National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence – Orange County (NCADD – OC) Community Alliance Network (CAN)

The Community Alliance Network (CAN) is the prevention arm of the NCADD-OC and is dedicated to creating and implementing prevention strategies that reduce the alcohol, tobacco and drug-related issues in our schools and communities.  Through collaborative planning, activities and educational programs, CAN is striving to reduce the prevalence
of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD).  CAN’s mission is bound by standards that focus on interrelationships between health and quality of life.  These standards are grounded in the belief that through community awareness, education, prevention and mobilization, comes community action and policy changes that create a healthier environment.

The CAN’s mission is focused on four priority areas:

  1. To reduce exposure of the county’s youth to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs
  1. To reduce the availability of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs
  1. To counter pro-alcohol, tobacco and other drug influences
  1. To reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related problems that impact health and safety issues at schools and in the workplace

Through collaboration with local community organizations, schools, youth, residents
and businesses, together we CAN create a healthier and safer Orange County.

The CAN serves the Southregion of Orange County.
